Trussville Gas and Water collaborated with McCullough Oil Company on the construction of their CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) station at the Happy Hollow Chevron located at 5347 Deerfoot Parkway. As of the beginning of 2015, the current cost of CNG at the station is $1.55 per gallon.
Natural gas vehicle’s (NGV) are good for our economy, our environment and your bottom line. Whether you are an individual or a fleet manager, never before have there been so many natural gas products and services available, spurred by unprecedented industry investment and government incentives.
Natural gas is a clean alternative fuel that is both less expensive and more environmentally friendly than diesel or gasoline.
Natural gas vehicles typically cost more than gasoline or diesel vehicles. This is largely due to the cost of the high pressure and insulated fuel tanks, which are necessary to store CNG. However, the cost of natural gas is still less per gallon.
- There are over 800 NGV fueling stations in the U.S. and refueling appliances are available for home use.
- There are around 50 different manufactures that produce 100 models of light, medium and heavy duty vehicles and engines.
- In the U.S. alone, NGV’s offset the use of about 400 million gallons of gasoline each year.
