Understanding Heating Degree Days

   Heating Degree Days (HDD) are days when the temperature has dropped lower than the comfortable temperature of 65 degrees. When this happens, consumers will use fuels such as natural gas to heat their homes and/or workplaces. The higher the HDD, the more fuel you will consume per day and the higher your heating bill will be.

   HDD's are important so you can relate how much more or less you might spend this winter on heating your home.
